can anyone give me a list of stuff ill need and and dummys guide to doing it plz??

thanks

Im interested in this as Iw ant to use a mk2 gear box and cant because of my ABS unit.

also i havent read the guide but i think the master cylinders are different on the abs cars iirc..

If you do the conversion, I'd be interested in the cylinder and ABS unit :)

this has been done on mine and if you speak to clio-wizard we have a step by step picture guide that could help you out.

I'll have a complete working ABS system for sale soon as i'm stripping it off from VEW when i turbo it.

I'm using a Mk2 style gearbox on my valver engine and i can't use a top mount because of the ABS unit being in the way :(

Im guessing to remove ABS to make way for Mk2 gear box would be to remove the pump and re route / re connect all the brake lines, then you would need to fit a none ABS master cylinder?

Sounds like alot of work! Think I would only do this if I had engine removed or gear box was out.

I did a track day in the wet last week and ABS was kicking in on some corners but generally not too bad. Just up sets the 'feel' of the brakes on track.

^^ just take your ABS fuse out for trackdays mate, i've taken the fuse out of VEW and it locks up lovely now

It's great when you slam the anchors on and the arse end kicks out :D

do you guys take care of brake fluid?

when I boiled mine at FCS due to no heatshield the brakes became spongey and now they ABS kicks in at every opportunity. With good fluid it pretty much never kicked in!

don't get why people don't like it :( - I hate driving a valver without it

ive never actually driven with it so when the naples ABS didnt work we just removed it instead of expensive investigations

if i never had it i cant miss it :)

How long ago did you do that? It locked up on me back in the summer, lol!!

Very recently mate you haven't been in the car since i ripped the fuse out lol.

I did manage to get it to lock up with the ABS in if i gave it enough abuse but now the braking is awesome now it's disabled!

Tyre screetching goodness.

All my cars never had ABS, I just learn to control my right foot. Triple right foot action in the space of a second or so .... :D Still want to add ABS to mine though

I duno why but i dont trust the valvers abs. I found it kicked in more often than it should

wouldnt drive the volvo without it got me out of bother a couple of time
