correct geometry settings

Hi all,

Maybe I ask for the sake of asking, but i am uncertain about the correct geometry settings.

I pulled out the RH drive shaft recently (resealing) and i thought that the alignment was maybe distorted by doing this?

So i have had my PH1 in the local alignment shop today, and i am not satisfied with there job so far. They didn't saved or printed the alignment report so i instructed them to do the hole (f*cking) procedure again, this time with the report. :ihatpcs:

During the conversation i asked them what there specifications are, giving by there alignment computer. It looks like they have only the specs. for the mk2. So i will give them the specs i found in the knowledge base, when they will redo the alignment.

I noticed that there is a different in the parallelism in the front toe.
- MK1 front axle toe in
- MK2 front axle toe out

- Are the specs in the knowledge base still uptodate, and can i refer this specs to the mechanic?
- The camber setting is not adjustable?
- Is it possible there is a noticeable difference in the handling :race: if they set the front axle to "toe out" instead of "toe in"?

I am very curious about this because since i drive this car, i don't feel the car very convenient in long fast corners. (i am used to front driven (Renault sport) cars.) It feels like the car needs constant correction in the corners, not feeling dangerous but a little bit strange....

Martijn - there is information 'somewhere' on this forum giving correct alignment parameters which differ from Renault specifications.

Unfortunately, all Vees feel slightly 'front-light' and aren't particularly planted on long sweeping bends.

Best bet it to set the car up correctly, fit only quality rubber and get used to it's handing limit traits on the track.

Aftermarket Coil overs (and even Ph2 rear subframe and wheels) can improve matters too.
 
Apologies Martijn, the recommended settings were questionable for Ph2.
The Ph1 settings are in 'the knowledge base'.

Thanks, I will hand over the settings as found in the knowledge base. Hopefully the will manage....

Hi i would like to have your opinion. (Sporing means parallelism) I gave them the renault settings. But they ignored it because "but sir than the parameter is out of spec in the report" :ihatpcs:

Is assume i have toe-in on the rear axle now which is good, and toe-out on the front axle. The guy is complete confused, he is thinking the bosch alignment computer is counting the other way around.
