Coilovers

Intrax indeed - but no fans here, more on the continent, the Dutch and some German folks.
Absolute great for the daily drive and play settings some times -i.e. softer during the winter and rain. Very, very stable in corners, a different car.
But very expensive, yep.

I've gone for BC Racing coilies. Jap scene give them rave reviews. Can't tell you how they are as not driven the car yet with them on. They were a bit of a punt but someone else went for them on here and was very happy, so I took the plunge. Couldn't justify the cost of the KW v3s (don't track the car - hardly ever drive it actually!). BCs are half the price of the competition, are they half the product? I don't think so personally. Decisions, decisions!

BC Racing

Bare in mind the majority that have KW's had no choice when they purchased...so whether they are twice or half the product, it's a bit irrelevant...

In life, generally, you get what you pay for.

Good point Ali. Think it was between KW and H&R back in the day!

Horses for courses. If we extrapolate out we should all be driving round with Nitrons, but most can't swallow the cost and have to find alternatives. Money no object I would have gone Nitrons. Oh and, as you suggest, there are always exceptions to rules ;)

Original BC Racing topic

A friend of mine who set up Rogue MS for the MR2 boys told me he uses BC on a regular basis for their track cars. He informs me they are "cheap and cheery" and individual components can be bought and replaced as and when. This is the reason he uses them as opposed to replacing the whole set up if disaster strikes.

That's the first I've heard Nitron mentioned on this forum, do they do a setup for the Clio V6? I've fitted them to Lotus's in the past and a few bikes.

They're the ones Dan - Ohlins!! Was wracking my brains for the really expensive jobbies!! Yeah Ohlins, are remortgage territory!

Re Nitron being available for the Vee, I think yes they were, but like H&R I'm not sure whether they are now.

Curse H&R for stopping making them :(

I'll be going KW's, having to save much harder, but unfortunately I'm a brand whore :(

There's a ph1 owner on this forum from Barnsley, in fact he is an Ohlins dealer. He said he priced up building an Ohlins system for his own car. It used Another make of sleeve (because Ohlins was too expensive) and it still came out at about £6k cost price!!! :-o
