After a couple of months of Vee ownership my 53 plate incurred a coil failure. It happened this morning after starting the car to go to work. Almost immediately i could tell something wasn't right, but as the engine was cold and the auto choke were holding the revs up, i continued about 50 yards, when the engine management light came on, so i limped back home to check things out.
Fortunately with the guidance from this forum i had already bought two coils and prepared my 'breakdown kit'.
As it was my first time, i had more difficulty removing the plug than the coil, ( always the same first time round  ) Once mastered, it was really easy, followed by the procedure for checking which coil had failed. As luck or not, it was the first coil on the rear left side, i checked the others to be sure just in case there was than one. I was back on the road after 30 mins, only thing, engine management light is still on, car sounds and pulls fine? I did read previously it might take a few miles to clear, i did approx 15 miles into work and it was still on, will see what happens tonight. Any how thanks for the previous advice on the forum as i would of been stuck without it. :thumb
