Renault Clio Williams - No 56
2.0 16V 74,000 miles
This Williams was tuned straight out of the factory by Renault Radbourne racing in 1994. The car was upgraded to group N spec and had the following upgrades that I know of;
Wilwood forged billet 4 Pot Callipers (Front)
Wilwood 298.5 mill discs (Front)
Braided brake lines (Front)
Lowered suspension (Unsure what make)
Group N Clutch
Devile Exhaust system (Cat back)
Remapped chip (Unsure what make)
Momo Steering Wheel
Sony CD player with 10 disc changer in the boot
Previous owner swore blind that the car is putting out 200bhp due to the engine mods carried out at Radbourne racing, but I’m not sure that’s correct, although I have had a few of these and this is by far the fastest out of all my Clio’s and have embarrassed a wide range of bigger cars with owners that knew exactly what their cars were pushing out
I would say it’s between 175 – 185bhp but I have never had it put on the rollers because it wasn’t that important to me really.
I have had the Williams for almost 2 years and in that time it has had the following;
KTR Low temp Fan Switch – 17.25
KTR Low temp thermostat – £11.50
NGK Spark Plugs – £29.90
KTR 8mm ignition leads - £56.35
KTR Distributor cap & Rotor Arm – £29.90
ITG Pane filter in original air box - £22.50
Clutch cable (Renault) – £90
Oil change and filter – £85.11
2x Wilwood 298.5 UL Straight Vane Rotors (Rallydesign) - £59.50 each
Bell to Rotor fixing bolts (Rallydesign) - £10.00
Ferodo DS2500 (Yozzasport) – £110
Both drive shafts (Renault) - £300
Both wish bones (Renault) - £100
Steering column – Supplied and fitted by KTR - £150
2x 195/45R15 Yoko S Drive - £64.88
The previous owner had the Williams in storage for about 5 years while he was travelling, hence the low mileage. I looked long and hard for a Williams, and this is one of the best examples I have seen, condition wise and definitely performance wise. The body work is in good condition, No rust anywhere, which is uncommon for these cars. The wheels are also in good condition, could do refurb to get back to perfect but they are straight and true. The interior is in excellent condition, with no rips, burns or stains.
Bad bits, every car has them! Thin Scratch on driver’s side rear quarter, it was there when I brought the car but is not that noticeable (I will get a pic), Stone chips on the bonnet which is unavoidable. Passenger side window is slow on the up and the passenger side switch is temperamental, but driver’s side works fine. I only got one fob and key with the Williams and the oil level gauge is temperamental (I think it’s a loose wire).
I have tried to be as honest as possible and list everything I can remember; although I’m sure I have forgotten some things. Any one looking for one of these should know what a Williams is all about and what I am selling. I’m not going to accept silly offers, I would rather put it back in storage, and ideally, I would really like it to go to an enthusiast, someone who will take care of her. I have always tried to maintain the cars as best I can and In the last 2 years I have spent over £1200 on parts alone. I will be sad to see her go, cos I wanted one of these since I was a kid but like I said, I have had four (2 Valver`s and 2 williams) and feel its time to move on. There isn’t a baby on the way, or a new house, lol, I just want a change.
No tyre kickers or test pilots, proof of insurance before driving (Sorry!!)
£4200 ono
