This is gunna be a short intro as I’ve bought the car built as is but I’ve had my fair share of issues with it and Its been improve since in my ownership and hopefully it’ll be better as time goes on.

Previously owned by KTec it was used as a demo car and didn’t really do much. My mate Dan bought it cheap as the gearbox was fucked and needed all the usual front end issues sorting. Once Dan had it afew weeks he decided it needed a Meg conversion as he had a spare engine lying around. After having it afew months he’d also bought a megane 250 which he favoured over this and I decided to buy it off him.
Spec was:
Forged Megane 225 engine with 9:1 compression
R26 gearbox
TTV flywheel and R26 clutch
Deka 630cc and Walbro 255 pump
Cup shocks and eibach springs
Power flex engine mounts
Clio 200 Scorpion exhaust with no cat
TD04-19t hybrid from Midland turbo
Made 240bhp & 230ftlb
Apart from this I’d only had a Clio 172 cup and my Renault 5 and not really driven many boosted Renaults apart from dans old mk1 Clio f7r turbo so I wasn’t really aware to the quirks of owning something this. After a couple of weeks of ownership I decided Togo for a “spirited drive” not knowing of the fuelling issues (driving round on less than half a tank) and ended up absolutely killing a piston

This being a Clio 200 I wasn’t ready to take this on my own so thankfully Dan sourced me a another engine and I ordered all new forged pistons, rods. Had the pms air con delete and billet pulleys. full airtec kit. Megane 250 map sensors, billet fuel rail, 3.5bar reg at the rail and fuel return and after a couple of weeks it was back and ready for mapping.
Did really well at EFI. pulled 350bhp @ 6800rpm and 350 Ftlb @ 3100rpm
Chris said it could’ve gone more and was really impressed with the TD04-19t but with the engine being 9:1 compression it would’ve had det but it’s my daily at the end of the day so I’m really happy with all the low end torque.
Now I’ve moved house (closer to work) I can start getting more done and not worry if it’s going to be running the next day or not.
