Chipsaway

Had an annoying little scratch/scuff on the back quarter blown in by a Chipsaway representative a few weeks back. (the scuff was from the previous owner not me) Very friendly service, they come out to you and have all onboard facilities including Paint Mix (I was a little wary) but to be quite honest the guy was there for approx 3 hours, the majority of the time was waiting for the heat lamps to do their job and dry the paint. The finish is very good and colour match spot on. I paid £120 for the job and cant fault it.

So if you have a small isolated job that needs doing they are certaily worth considering

Have you some before pictures ?

Last time I got chips-away in to look at a car they had a rough figure of £70 per panel for dents/repairs etc. rather than a cost per repair ...

Probably a fairly dynamic pricing model given it's a franchise based business ... Anything which provides the option of localised repairs at a modest cost is worth considering rather than the traditional total panel/car re-spray ...

The guy who I spoke with (and subsequently did the job) was the area rep for Nottinghamshire. He quoted based upon the actual scuff and quoted high. The actual final price was cheaper than the quote.

I have some images of before I can upload, I will wait til I have a shot of after so you can see a comparison

cheers

I've heard mixed reports - I think they are only as good as the person who comes to do your car. If you get someone who is great you are OK, but could get someone who isn't that good. Bit like going to McDonalds....you never seem to get the exact same tasting burger from 2 different outlets.

Maybe I eat too many McDonalds :-)
