Cheap Illiad PH2 on PH

Well moggsie, I don't think any of us actually know, as we don't go around looking at the v6's for sale to inspect them so we can compare values. A mint condition Vee with average mileage 25-30k full service history and all work done I would say somewhere around £16k.

That's kind of what I was expecting thus I think what I paid for mine was a fair price. Swings and roundabouts.

Agree completely £16K if it's truly mint with FSH, good tyres and requires no work at all :approve:

as long as you pay what you are happy for for the car, it doesnt matter.

the things listed above as "issues" with the car are not expensive ones to fix, nor that uncommon really. Its just the cambelt and a good service which might cost a fairbit.

when i got mine many years ago, it was 3-4k cheaper than the market value. It needed the cambelt changing and a few scuffs tidying up. Doing these things cemented the car in my life and made me really enjoy it and i was proud of being part of its history, leaving it in better condition than i brought it.

would be boring if the car was mint when you got it, then you would have nothing to do to it!!! ;)

good on ya. hope you enjoy it!!!! :approve:

Totally agree with the above and TBH I can kinda guess what you paid and I think you have done really well to get what is and will be an iconic car but more importantly means the world to you for the price you paid. You will cherish and look after it and the exact sort of owner it needs. I was lucky enough to get a 'mint' vee but if I ever get the chance I would get a slighty less than mint vee as my daily drive and keep the other vee original and special. But that is just a dream for now ;) Honestly you will love your vee and for me the appeal has never waned cos like you I always wanted one for years so I can relate to you :) as I am sure many others owners do. So no you are not a cockhead, as far from it as you can get, you are a vee owner and very proud :) Get yourself down to WSR it will be a good run out for your vee :race:

Well said mate :approve:

And WSR will allow you to compare restoration notes with others and also see some of the modifications people are doing/have done....

Cheers for those kind words Nas. I can't make WSR as I'll be away with work. Gutted. But I'll be along to some of the group meetings don't you worry. Mainly to see a sea of Vee's...

You will love your first meet  A sea a vees is a spectacular sight! My first meet was at Oxford United car park in April and what a sight to see 7 vees sitting there really took my breath away. All that was in my head for the next few days was the sound of vees and the images impinged on my memory.

Regards the price for a mint vee I would look to pay 18k. Although the current realistic price is 16k. The reason why I would prepare to pay more? Cos of the time and effort involved in keeping the vee in mint condition for a longer period. And if the mileage is low ie sub 20,000 then definately would pay top dollar for it. In time I am sure that will happen especially when sellers dont need to sell so to prise a mint vee from its owner will naturally cost more than the current prices. But this is probably about two years away I would say ie the start of a gradual increase in prices. By then ph2s will be at least 7 years old and if they are in a good condition then buyers will recognise that and phase 1s 10 years old!
