CG Lock Seatbelt Stabiliser

Interesting gadget. There is no mention of how these work along side the belt pre-tensioners (if that matters)

Pretensioners preemptively tighten the belt to prevent the occupant from jerking forward in a crash. Mercedes-Benz first introduced pretensioners on the 1981 S-Class. In the event of a crash, a pretensioner will tighten the belt almost instantaneously. This reduces the motion of the occupant in a violent crash. Like airbags, pretensioners are triggered by sensors in the car's body, and most pretensioners use explosively expanding gas to drive a piston that retracts the belt. Pretensioners also lower the risk of "submarining", which is when a passenger slides forward under a loosely worn seat belt. An alternative approach being looked at by major car companies is the CG-Lock technology whereby the occupant is held in position via the lap belt in order to prevent the passenger from coming out of position in the event of a crash.
I imagine it's a bit uncomfortable if needing a wee.
CG Lock In Action

I've not got shares in this company, but I've been scouting ebay for a "reasonable" purchase price. They're £40something at Demon Tweeks.
I've bought 1 to try, but if anyone else is interested - the stock may not last long enough before I can post a review.

RE Cheap CG lock seatbelt unit

Item is collect only but I am going over there on Thursday and will collect your if you order one and I will then post them on to you at cost of the postage, £3 at a guess

There in East Grinstead and I am in tonbridge 15 odd miles away.

Its an odd ad as they say collect only on the heading but then say postage is free to the UK later in the ad text ?

Anyway I will ask them tomorrow what the deal is.

how to fit it link LINK

Cheers

Steve

Cheers Steve,

The description does state "includes UK postage", so I'm not expecting needing to collect.
Please collect mine if it is "pick up only"!

Has anyone used the afore-mentioned product?

I used this on my old road spider for sprinting. Works really well but just a couple of reservations:
the weight of the device upsets the re wind of the seatbelts and you really would not want to shut one of these in the door! (was not a problem on the spider as the belts roll out from the centre of the car between the seats)
It does need to be clamped tightly onto the belt buckle by way of 2 screws which will leave a mark, at least, on the buckle itslef once it is removed.

Guys,

Just got an Ebay message from the seller saying he will be shipping them to me tomorrow, so no need to collect!

:approve:

For those of you who haven't checked the link - the price is £25 inc. delivery.

Been looking for something like this for a while.

Just bought one from flea-bay. Gone up to £27 tho.

With my seats it should provide epic buttock grippage!

Hi Peter,

They're great bits of kit actually, do make quite a bit of difference to posture and you feel more connected to the car, no doubt.

Enjoy :)
