Cd multichanger not working!!!

Hi all, was just wondering if anyone could shed some light on my multichanger...It seems when i push the src button on the unit nothing happens to the change over from radio to cd. Looked under drivers seat and catridge does not come out either. Any ideas?? its all original equipment and i know its not as cool as some of the modern stereos you can buy now a days but i would just like to get it all working for now...Thanks for any help daz

i know it sounds silly, but did you slide the face across before pressing to eject the cartridge? i dont think the headunit pick up the cd player if you dont have any in there.

i have a spare fully working multichanger you can have if all else fails!

Although Ive had no issues with the Vees cd changer, my old 172 had "sticking" problems a few times. Hold the green eject button in a few seconds, it will eventually come out, once it does check whether theres anything stuck inside the housing unit, then re insert it slowly ensuring the machine takes the cartridge at its own pace. Repeat process if neccessary it will sort itself out [smilie=badpc.gif]

Yup I have tried sliding face back and forth. No luck, held the green button down loads but nothing no noise or any sign of life and it also looks like there is a cd in there?? I don't think there seems to be any power there and strange how it ain't even sourcing it through the stereo, could it be disconnected? Thanks for the info so far lads, top stuff!!!

could be that is just is disconnected, have a look at the back of the multichanger and the head unit. if it is connected, pull it out and put it back in again.

could also be a dodgy wire, might be kinked or caught up somehow?

Aye on closer examination its defo disconnected....why am not sure? So there is a connector which has been zip tied up to the bottom of the seat. Could this be the problem. It was getting kind of dark before i had a look at it to be honest, so should i remove the whole multichanger to see what exactly is going on, very difficult to make out under the seat and not much room to work on it. Why would this have been done?? Any wiring diagrams on here to see whats been disconnected?? cheers all daz

That zip tied connector may be the dealer fix for the seatbelt warning light issue many moons ago. However mine has a connector tied up under there. My multi-changer is in the garden shed since the invention of MP3 head units. :)

Finally got around to this today...disconnected at the stereo doh!!! all working tickity boo noo....Any thoughts on that phillips cassette mp3 plater, sound quite good for the iphone..anyone have one and info??
