Got mine on a ramp at a place looking to whip the cats off it.

Guy says its a nightmare and its looking like mega money to do

this the case?

The collector pipe is dead easy to gut and gutting the down pipes isn't that hard either. It is slightly awkward doing it on your back under the car like I did but on a ramp it would be much quicker.

To take manifolds and cats connected to manifolds is not a nice job with engine in and would take 4-5 hours to take off

This is true but the manifolds don't really need to come off. I kept mine on so I didn't run the risk of damaging a flange bolt in either of the heads. 4 hours is a good shout though.

A much more free flowing exhaust. I didn't notice any difference when I removed the two in the collector box apart from a very slight increase in noise. Different story however when I gutted the down pipes. The engine was much more free reving and on the road it was much more eager and responsive. Oh and it made some nice flames from time to time too.

Hi, for those who have removed the cat/ cats does it affect the emissions for mot and does it throw any dash lights up ? :)

Never mind about freindly MOT's.

I am just looking at getting a set of front pipes converted to sports cats, trouble is i cannot convince the guy to build the jig to do one set, not cost effective. so anyone else interested in this, if so i will create another post with some more details.

The place mine was in had a jig for GT-R ones. They are flying out the door because the warranty is up on alot of them this year.

Always gonna struggle with few numbers like the vee. Remember someone went down that route with janspeed

Spike, if its anywhere near like the quality and perfect sound of your half system, then im definately in for some sport cats

Just to clarify though, dont want any BOOM or drone in the car..but more pops and cracks would be nice !!!

I will be up for some pipes with sports cats as long as they don't set the check engine light off - it is reported that the Janspeed full system with sports cats is prone to this.
