Car Dies Going Up Hills!

Morning.
About a week ago I started a thread saying every now and again my V6 would lose all it's power just after start up.

I've now found the common link and wondered if anyone could shed some light on the cause.

It only seems to happen if I've been parked on a hill, or am trying to go up a steep incline just after starting the engine.

My local Tesco carpark is on a really steep hill. Parked the car facing up the hill yesterday.
Started the car 5 mins later. Everything fine until I turned out of the carpark onto the main road which goes up another steep hill.

The engine revs freely enough until you take your foot off the clutch.

You can just about get 2mph out of it!

Slip the clutch and it revs fine. Foot of the clutch again and it won't have it.

After a few quick goes of turning off and redrafting it eventually sorted itself out I think, but it might also have just been me giving it revs and slipping the clutch up the hill that did it.

On the flat again it was

I guess it's fuel starvation of some kind? Or something else perhaps?

Gunk in the injectors? Knackered fuel pump?
Or could it still be the fuel filter breaking up?

Cambelt and service next week so I guess we'll find out then, but just wondered if you had any ideas in the meantime?

Cheers!

Simon

I had a fuel pump go on mine.

Reason is it was stood at a dealers low on petrol - you need to keep the tank above 2 gallons so it doesnt rust to bits as mine did!

Symptoms were drove ok until put under load then it misfired badly, that seems different from your problem?

Could be filter or think there is a fuel venting problem as well thats common

Hope this helps!
