Can you?

As long as you're comfortable that no debris that might be floating on top ends up in the bucket and that you're not drawing water from the bottom of the butt where grit etc will be.. then you shouldn't have a problem using it. :approve:

You can wash a car in the rain ! The neighbours think your mad , but the rain washes the soap off leaving a not bad finnish :approve: I would only do this on my non Vee 6 cars !! :(

In theroy yes Karcher pressure washers are set up to run off water butts, they also have filters in them to you should not really drag any crap through them. I know people from detailing world have used rain water due to hose pipe ban

I use water from a rain butt in a watering can to rinse the car first (with a brush).
But most car shampoo really needs warm water to work properly.
So I wash in warm tap water but rinse off with a couple of watering cans of rain water.

I empty and rinse the butt out early every spring and don't need to filter the water (not many trees around me) but I think I'd need to if the butt hadn't been cleaned.
