Cabin Changes

Guy's Just got the car and already planning some mods.

Trying to keep them subtle, Got a set of Recaros ( God i hope they fit ) and generally want to smarten up the cabin,

Had a few Blue/ Gray interior's before and to be honest i'm sick of it.

Before i fit the seats...... Carpet ? Will a standard Front PH1/PH2 carpet fit, Ideally want to go black.

Also i can get round the airbags but what do you guy's do in regards to the seatbelt stalks They as you know are mounted onto the original seats and with them gone, what should i use.

Before, i've went with full harnesses and never had to think about it.

My pre-tentioners are fixed to the subframes. (Recaro)

To fit your replacement recaros you'll need to buy the appropriate subframes (you can mod the oem ones but it's a pain). Capital seating is the usual choice but sportseats4u is a bit cheaper. As Ali said once purchased the subframes have locating holes for the seat belt fastners.

Re the carpet you can buy replacement car carpet on ebay for peanuts.

I already have a set of Clio OMP seat subframes and planed on using these, The seat (I'm picking them up today) have runners on them and looking at the pics should just bolt on to the subframes.

So just the stalks to worry about, I suppose it will be clearer when i have everything in front of me.


Good news about the carpet.... Just need to find a good quality item.

I do the resistors for the airbag replacment, £1 each there fused with a 2 amp fuse or see my ad on Ebay. I went to a scrap yard and cut off the plugs that are under the seat and wired the resistor in to them and plugged them into the loom.

One 3.3 ohm for each seat airbag, the Clio pretensioner seat belt fitting bolt on to the seat, capital seating do a platic cover to go over them.

I kept the honda seat runners on my seats and modified them to fit with a couple of bits of steel plate, this resulted in a much lower seating postion than Recaro's own Clio subframes.

^No disrespect to Steve, but there's no need to cut any of the wires. They have plugs that you can simply unplug. But yes the resistor HAS to be 3.3 Ohm. I tried 2.9 and that didn't work.

I don't think Steve cut any wires from what I read ... He got some some old air-bag connectors from a scrappy and fitted the resistors to these and then plugged these into the loom ... I would have done the same but ended up simply slotting the resistors into the loom connector ...
