C/r On Race Engine

Building a new engine for the 2014 season.
What would be the best C/R to run. Not planning big boost around 17/18 psi.

High comp engine would be good something like 8.0 to 9.0 means less boost can be used for more more power, downside is on the std aei you will possible suffer from det, you really want mappable ignition or that french programmable aei so at least it looks standard

Think my old MSM / ctm engine was something like 8.5:1

Considered standalone? Scoff does some very good deals for a fit 'n' map.

I like 8:1 for compression on a Turbo lump. Good torque, but not so high as you can't run up to the 20's with boost. 8:1 all the way.

Limited with regs regarding aftermarket mods.
That's why the programmable AEI was tempting as no one would know:)
I have trouble fitting in lots series as run an aftermarket turbo. EFI, mappable ignition, no chance..

Hahaha that I understand....i'm doing a track shakedown at Silverstone in March, in my Fuego, with a Ferrari 458, Ultima Can-Am V8, and a Lotus 1-21. Lets see them snigger after we come off the track :D

Howdo David,

I'm sure we've had this chat before, but can't you stick an aftermarket brain (Mega/Micro Squirt) in the aei casing? Or do the scrut's regularly pop the box open to make sure everything is o.e?

The aeiP could be the way to go, but it's ££ and still an unknown quantity. If only the French lads would loan us one...

Hi Mart, Yeah we have discussed this, doubt it would get past the eagle eyed competitors or onlookers. The scrutineers not a problem.
The AEI P is the way to go. I'm sure you can work your charm on the French boys ;)
