having owned a couple of rs's imn the past im slightly concerned about spending so much money on a car that has similar build quality to the 182s etc. or are the vees built beter. also do they have the esp/traction?

No traction or ESP on a Vee just ABS so that's something special to look forward to.

I personally feel both the MK 1 and MK 2 v6s are built much better than the more mass produced 172/182 models. It may be down to a much smaller team.

didnt think they did. that shud be fun. i hope so as the 182s ive owned are fairly rattly

James.. i thought they had traction control on the 255's? But unlike the 182 it cant be switched off... No..??

no traction on the vee, think there's a bit of brake assist?

Oh right...? Interesting, i thought there was. Especially as trying to get power down sometimes, like in the dry around a tight hairpin, in a low gear.. it felt like something was holding the car back.. What could this be.?

Test it and remember to add Cat D to your advert please. :)

LOL.. oh i have... dont worry about that.. just seems a little "flat" getting power down sometimes.. when i thought i could try and get the back end out.

I think perhaps i should try a bit harder then... [smilie=cool.gif]

defo have no driver aids on a vee - as I nearly spun mine a couple of weeks back fishtailing the backend left then right

had always wondered why people on the forum say tiptoe with a vee in the wet so decided to find out the hard way

I can get the back end of the Vee out pretty easily with moderate throttle in 1st gear but usually with a flick of the steering ;-)

From a standtill turning right out of a T junction is becoming a speciality also LOL ...

This is probably partly due to the Vee having an open diff and lots of low down torque.

I guess because happnes so easily I tend to be very cautious in the wet, probably overly cautious - maybe not a bad thing ...

Mine was a bit more than a flick of the steering wheel!

I shot out of a covered shopping centre in first so didn't realise it was wet / greasy, was trying to beat the lights at a junction to turn right at 90 degrees up a hill. Changed to second then swung it right and powered on, felt lightness at the front then all hell broke loose as in heading for the central barrier with the tail out left then opposite lock to correct it but overcooked it so tail out right before finally straightening up!

I pretended to act cool when other cars behind me and bus caught up with everyone staring at me like "I meant to do that!" but defo been slower in the wet since!
