Bonnet Catch Recall

Wonder if any one gets a letter through, I had one come through on my 182 05plate as a royal mail signed for letter, not had one on the vee yet.

So took the opportunity and went to SMC Aldershot said that would replace the mechanism on the bonnet. After half hour went by they came out and said they have replaced both parts top and bottom section wasnot going to argue it was for free. Looks much better now no rust!

Had a look round the Clio 4 when there, its growing on me!

The 0AW3 bonnet catch recall was a few years ago for cars within certain VIN ranges. Letters went out and most have had this sorted I thought?

Yes, I think they put a sticker on the slam panel when it had been done.

Seems quite a few people have been getting the recall letters recently, wonder if they're trying to mop up the last ones?

Ive been getting letters on and off for about 5 years off them , the last one last week said the maximum it will cost me to fix will be £95. [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

Why do they want to charge you! I just drove to the local garage no booking and just asked them have a look. Even got a free tea too.

I've just picked up my letter this morning from the post office. It's the first letter regarding the bonnet catch I've ever received and the timing is rather a shame as I my car was with the dealer Mon-Wed.

Got a letter today. They'll inspect it FOC but I'll have to pay for a replacement. They're all heart!

Us poor northerners get "any corrective action free of charge".

Musn't grumble. :)

I also got a letter, it had to be signed for. Very strange have owned a few Clio's first letter I have had regarding this. Bit odd to send it out considering its 11/12 years old

Something along the lines of its very dangerous, could case of death etc etc they will check for free but I need to pay £95....

Car is SORN at the moment anyway but I will try to get this checked but wont be paying either, I will just make refrence to other Reno garages that have not charged.

If its of any use I could try and scan
