best track day tracks for vee

hi
has anyone been on a track day for a vee

Bedford is particularly good, renaultsport arrange a few evenings during the year, probably too lat fore this year now. www.renaultsport.co.uk
Still can get you opn the Montlhery Clio v6 only day if you act tonight, see the meetings and events thread.

Bedford is awesome fun. Really quick circuit and vee loves to wiggle a bit if you go in with too much speed into some of the corners which adds to the fun. Some of the corners are just so fast and once you hook it all up its really enjoyable. A couple of late apex corners which are not easy to master at first but practice makes perfect. In the wet/damp vee just keeps understeering a lot but nonetheless still good fun.
Silverstone national circuit is short only 1.7 miles but again its really good fun. I did about 90 laps there on wed :race: On wednesday me and Nick Trott ran both our vees out there (ps he is a supersmooth driver like Jenson Button one turn in one turn out) and we really did try some different lines and gears to get Brooklands right and eventually found a line totally different to most of the cars there. Brooklands is critical to the rest of the infield but once it was hooked up you flowed smoothly through the rest of the track.
Godzilla (Nissan GTR) was lapping 1m 7s!! I was doing 1m 18s
Porsche gt3s were superquick and veyrog was holding its own against them!! It was even spitting out flames!
Ps Nick is a top bloke and gave me some invaluable tuition and advice money cant buy [smilie=thanks.gif]

To be honest there are far far far more qualified people out there than me (just a novice me) but Anglesey is one people rate I think.

I would agree with Mark and say Bedford for novices (or not) cos its fast corners one after the other, a 1km back straight and pretty open and probably the safest circuit if you do go off. Not that I have before anyone pipes up

Yep, Done knockhill about 10 times, Cadwell once and the Ring. Brakes were ok...ish. lasted a full lap of the ring but were fading in places, usless at knockhill tho, 6 laps and they were goosed, i changed the disks and pads recently but the car is now retired from track work! :)

Im organising a track day at Curborough sprint track if anybody is interested. Its a cheap fun day and ideal for first timers.

Cupborough looks a bit 'pony' tbh! Very rough surface too. I'd save your money for a proper track day tbh!

Ali, your car looks the shit in them pictures above.

Have you changed much on it, as it looks so sweet?

The top one was taken in 2009?! - At the ring. That's roughly the same spec as it is now, bar Sabelt steering wheel, longer front plate and 2 piece disks. It had the coils on it then which made a big difference. Bottom pics from Cadwell in 2008, std set up with Federal tyres!

Cheers :)
