What should starter detailing kit comprise of??

I need to start buying some better gear instead of the usual "ultra shine", "Gloss clean" and various other halfords crap.

I already have a decent wash mit and bucket.
So what else do you guys recommend on your vees?

I know ill need about a gallon of bug remover!! but which one?
same goes for clay, wax, wheel cleaner is that all i need bar a drying towel??

thanks
jamie

Washing up liquid and a brillo pad mate!

:) :)

I use:

Megs body shampoo
Autogylmn resin polish
Ag high definition wax or egp
Megs wheel cleaner
Autoglymn wheel sealent

Seems to work ok but I know ali uses other stuff so you might wanna search some of his threads.
Colin g also had some threads on detailing his black gold vee some time ago.

I got the bug after getting the vee...

I use auto glym (AG) stuff, I know others love dodo juice and megs but I get great results from AG... Aston martin and jag can't be wrong eh?

AG body shampoo & conditioner
AG super resin polish
AG HD wax

I also use
AG rapid detailed
AG auto wax

for those quicker sessions
;)

Hi Jamie

Here's a pic of my rather sad collection of products, most of which have come from cleanyourcar.co.uk:

A decent session for me will generally include:

Pre-clean jet wash
Bilberry wheel cleaner with tyres dressed in the relevant Autoglym or Back to Black product
Poorboy's wheel sealant
Clean with Dodo Supernatural shampoo and lambs wool washmit (2 bucket method)
Megs professional detailing clay
Sonus restoration / final finish polish
Dodo Juice soft four wax
Finish off with Dodo buffing cloth

Hope this helps :)

We haven't had any dealing with cleanyourcar. Use your CS code :)

I'll mention them to Matt the discounts arranging expert.
