Hi peoples,

No one will remember me i was a year long owner of my 1st Vee two years ago (phase one in silver) I had to sell due to having to build a large extension for my rents !! I took delivery from Scott on Xmas eve of a LOVELY Illiad blue 20k one owner Vee !!! [smilie=yay.gif] It is now taxed and insured and well I never - what a feeling to drive one again !! But this one is soooooo much better !! I am very lucky to buy one through Scott as i had the re-assurance of it having the 10 year service done along with wheel refurb (anyone know where i can get GOOD replacement centre caps from ? ) i only need two but renault mega expensive ! Also front re-spray and the obvious ! I think this car is new to clio v6.net so i hope it pleases James to have another on here :salut: I re-joined here a couple of months ago with the mind of Scott finding me a cracker !! And at Xmas he truely found me a cracker :race: Anyway it is an absolute joy to have one back in my life and i am hoping to keep it for many years to come !! What a car

Great news - sounds perfect!

You could try Paul Templeton at Renault Parts Direct for your centre caps.
I guess they are silly money for such a small part - but it's not something you'd expect to replace again. Approx £50 for the pair.

That sounds a bargain compared to Renault ;) Thanks for that - will sort next week - i have two that are "wobbling" around Scott i think said weak spring on them ?? Ebay was suggested but apparently all poor quality ?

lol James  the man of v6 knowledge  Yes it was. I haven't spoken to him it was all done through our beloved Scott  I had a few emails with Geoff and from what i can tell "what a genuine, lovely bloke" i may see him if he in the area as he requested the oppertunity to see me. Which i thought was nice of him - not all about money but i wont say any more on that 8) I am just in awe of the car - it is absolutley gorgeous :race: ive already clocked up 20 miles in it lol !! I have to say i took it out yesturday for the frist time (Scott test drove after engine out etc ) and took me for a test drive (nearly s--t my pants) so i had not driven it [smilie=icon_cry.gif] i was so scared it was stupid - shaking and all sorts but i have taken it out today and i was more relaxed - the short shift and throttle response is soooooo different from phase one !! I am still nervous but it is one of thoses that you get used to over time [smilie=yay.gif]

Only issue I have is the side pods are carbon replacements that i noticed yesterday have been sort of siliconed in at the top ? i could colour code but would like originals at some point. They look ok but apart from that and the couple of centre caps thats it - oh wow - i'm stil smiling !!! lol lol lol i haven't driven it since 2pm today and im still smiling. weird effect the vee has on you :) I spent a day detailing it in the "hidden areas " but i will do again as it wasn't good enough and i sort of got bored. but there is no hurry - i have every weekend now the poxy extension is finished. In ref to photos i will next time i clean it take a few i am basic user of internet so if this has to be a photobucket affair or facebook then no. but i see how it goes - i might even stop drooling soon once i get used to seeing it on the drive [smilie=yay.gif]

Small world !! He has REALLY looked after it - the receipts tell you Geoff was a good owner ;) The newish bits i have on his/my car now are reassuring to me - every car i buy i have to spend a fortune on - i think i paid a good price and i am REALLY HOPING for trouble free low millage motoring ;) god willing !!

I picked my Liquid Yellow car up from Scott's a couple of days ago and he told me that a rather mint Illiad had just found a new home...well done Craig! I'm fairly new to the Vees, and still can't believe how much fun they are to drive. I did experience my first slightly sideways event on the road from Scott's place to Malmesbury, where the road was frosted in the shade, but it wasn't too scary. I think that a wet track day would be fun to really know the limits of the Vee properly.

Mark

Hi mark

Your car was there when i picked up the paperwork !! I did have a look round whilst Scott was on the phone - NICE Mark 8) Lovely Vee !! I know what you mean about the frost in shaded parts ! It has been cold here and its something to think about - you just don't realise !! I just hope upon all hopes that i never get mine sideways lol !! Im all about the looks of the car NOT the speed BUT i did floor it up the bypass in Chippenham earlier (5000 revs only) and it was awesome [smilie=yay.gif] I won't do it very often but Scott told me to give it the beans at least once a month to keep it tip top - i hate that but hey its a clio v6 why the hell not ??? lol

Cheers Mark and thats a lovely car you've got [cmilie=iconcheers.gif]

Craig

Welcome back Craig!

I remember you as you took me for a spin in your phase 1 when I was looking to buy mine over a year ago... Nice to see you're back. Didn't enjoy the Mini then?

Hi there Inigo :)

Hope your v6 experience is still good !! The mini is still on the drive - i couldn't let this vee go so have 2 cars at mo :( The Mini actually (after fitting coilovers and 18's) is a nice car - i love the interior but it was only ever going to be a stop gap whilst i built me extension - some body said to me "why did you sell the v6 - i would have bought a banger whilst extension being built and kept the v6 !" It didn't even cross my mind [smilie=icon_cry.gif] Otherwise i would still have it specially after spending £2,500 on it a year before !! Never mind all i need to do is sell me cooper s - hint hint anyone looking for one lol !! But hey I now am a very very proud owner of a 20k miles 04 illiad blue phase 2 !! Who cares !! Im in love !! lol [smilie=yay.gif]

Congratulations, and well done. :approve:

I am sure you will enjoy the Phase 2 experience as much as you did your Phase 1.

Enjoy!
