Auto wipers

I have the wipers set in the automatic position but they very often don't come on even in really heavy rain. Once you have put them on manually and then put the stalk back to automatic they then work perfectly on automatic until the car is switched off.

Anyone got any ideas why they aren't working?

I was under the impression that you had to re set them every time just in case of frost and you don’t want them to come on as they have frozen to the screen overnight. Sorry no idea if mine work or not as it never goes out in the rain because I have no life.

Yep ... I reckon they're working as designed. If you've left it in auto position and then turned off the ignition they won't automatically start up next they see rain. You always need to moved from off to auto in that ignition cycle, and then they'll adjust speed as necessary and even stop and restart.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was convinced they used to come on automatically before even if the ignition had been switched off! :s
