Atmo Sump Pan

Can anyone help? I need a new sump pan for my 1982 atmo as I have to renew the sump gasket and I don't think the pan i've got will survive the experience! I've tried the usual Renault contacts and it is a part that is no longer made apparently.

Anyone know - is it the same as the other engines or is it specific to the Atmo? I know the Turbo's got an oil drain inlet on it, but is it the same in other respects?

Andrew

Mine has an oil drain on the right hand side (drivers side) so could be the same as the turbo. Apparently the "ordinary" 5's didn't have the drain.

I'll definitely have a G Turbo one. I'll check it out too. Mike - are you still after a tailgate?

Andrew

Thanks Phil and Andrew - I've decided to live with the small leak until I find one just in case it gets damaged coming off.

Re the tailgate, I couldn't find another one as good as mine was (apart from the damage) so had it repaired and repainted - it now looks as good as new.

Have spent the winter getting things sorted underneath ie new fuel lines, a bit of underseal etc. Did the driveshaft seals which were quite expensive - about £50 each. They used to be about £8 when the car was in production.

But it's all worthwhile when behind the wheel!!

my guess is the sumps are the same bar the extra pipe to take the turbo drain,, as the turbo and atmo both have the mechanical fuel pump, which is what the drain pipe is for. i have a turbo sump in front of me and you could either cut the extra pipe off and sleeve over the hole with hose and clips or clip a bung on the end it shouldnt get in the way of things.
