There was a delicious Ph1 iceberg too but I didn't get a picture. : (

These Vees were partly sidelined for the all magical Alpines on display - ironically, the Vees commanded far more attention. Lol!

Which club was this? My brother said said I should sign up with them and then get a run around Lemans circuit next year!!!

I have no idea who organises this though! RAOC?

Its Renault Classic but the Vee is not an accepted car IIRC

Ok thanks that sucks though.... not accepted to run the circuit or accepted into Renault Classic club?

Is there a reason behind that... age of the car?

My Dad went this year with the Aston Martin club and Db9's etc ran around with Db5's.....!!! Perhaps the Aston owners are not as stuck up as Renault owners

Its not that as much as the Renault area is not a club stand, it is in a prime manufacturers area and organised by Renault, or at least it was last time I went and I guess they just wanted cars that fit the event, Even spiders were not allowed before (maybe are now- not sure) but it was just for Alpine stuff and real old classics. A club such as V6 passion could have had their own stand but it would be tucked away with all the masses.

Ok, hence the Aston Owners club being reasonably large, therefore all the models owned by their members are allowed in no matters about age are relevent for them.

Its a shame from our selfish perspective that Renault does'nt want to include the V6 but I understand it was completly irrelvent to the Le mans period....

Having said that the quantity of modern metal there is vast from other Manufacturers/ Owners clubs.

Never mind. Will have to buy a Turbo 2 if I want to go around the track [cmilie=iconcheers.gif]

The Ph1 that I spotted was with another exotic club. It was parked in good company, opposite an enzo and a zonda. So it's simple enough to get a blast 'round - just not with Renault Classic (yet!)

Le Mans Classic.... Hmmmm I feel a club trip coming on. :)

I wonder if those two Vee's did belong to David and Ben, they certainly look like it.. David's is quite distinctive.

What do you think Kett, worth the effort of going over there?

^^^^ Exactly what I was thinking, if there is enough interest I think it would be fantastic. Group camping, Racing all weekend, small display of cars amongst other beauties and of course we all get to run around the track for 20 minutes!!! :race:

Perhaps the guys you know from the French club would be interested, easy for them and they appear to have huge numbers and love a good meet up!!!

Definitely - there are sooo many favourites in one place.
I could've spent the whole weekend drooling over the owners displays - let along enjoyed the racing.

On a practical note: I took the new van because of the camping equipment. The campsite had undulations too.
I think a Vee trip would be amazing - but would need very careful logistical planning.
We've got until 2016 to plan for the next one.

Looks like a brilliant weekend Kett. I see there was a spectacular line up in the GrpC grid this year. Would rather see those over the new age stuff any day!

Seems like a superb trip, and you have captured some of my favourites.

Is that 917 the car that Steve McQueen drove in the movie Le Mans? I read somewhere that it was going to be auctioned, but cannot find any firm details?

The trio of Alfas look good too ;)
