ANNOYING ALARM

My alarm keeps going off and its really annoying.

Any large bus/truck, or a barryboy with a bigbore exhaust and my alarms going off.

I garage it when i stay at my own house, but half the time im over the mrs and it must be driving the neighbours mad.

Any ideas how to turn down the sensitivity??? Got to the point where i went out to lock the car manually, then realised i couldnt and just left the car unlocked :(

i think you have to take it to a garage to turn it down, but you can disarm the sensors by turning the key in the ignition on and off (just enough to turn the electrics on) 3 times in a row before getting out. the car beeps at you when you lock it to say its done.

Mine is the same and there have been a few posts on this, some poeple say you can get it turned down others say no. I asked last time it was serviced and renualt said you can have it on or off !! but then again what do they know !

I made a thread on this a while back too. I just turn the internal sensors off at night, as when I took it to Renault they told me the sensitivity can't be turned down :(

you can lock the car up with the alarm off by, pressing the lock button inside the car with the passanger door open then lock the passanger door with the key, seemed to sort me out,

Cheers guys, ill be trying the sensor one tonight.

Bit concerned because its been doing it four or five times a night/early morning, and the cars parked on the pavement.

Iv got visions of very angry sleep deprived people running a key or two down the side :(

Got the same problem, but I think this is something wrong. Not just some sensitive sensors.
I've never had this problem before, but for a few days ago it started to go go off, sometimes 1 minute after I've locked the car, and then totally random without any strong noice or something like that?

Since then, I've locked the doors manually, so my car stands without alarm atm.

Also I've spotted the small red diod thats sitting in the same panel as the clock/radio display.
Before, I think that this one was shining red when the car was locked with the alarm on, now, it flashes randomly when driving the car.

Any idea?

I dont want to hand it in to Renault, because they have no idea what they are doing :( And know nothing about this car
At least the 3 places I've tryed...

EDIT:
I've read some now... I'll switch off the sensors when I get home (ignition on-off, 3 times, followed by 3 beeps) and I'll have a check at the sensor under the bonnet... Is it the red thing? About 3cm diameter?... I've always thought about what that was :D EDIT

Hello again!

I've really need som help with this, there are very hard to get help with this in Sweden...

I tryed to turn the ignition on/off 4-5 times and locked the car + unlocked it.
I didnt hear any beeps when unlocked the car, and I cant see that I experienced any difference when it comes to the red diod next to the clock (i guess this is the larm indicator?)

I tryed again with turning the ignition on/off a few times again, and after I did that the car didnt start at all, the start-engine worked fine but the engine didnt start. I turned the iginition on/offf a few times again and then it started?
I dont know if it had anything to do with that the engine didnt start.

Anyway:

Is there any way to reset the car to default? (if there are other things I might have turned on/off with my tryes)
Is it 2 times I have to turn the ignition on/off to turn off the sensors?
Since my car never has larmed when locked before, something must have happened? How can I repair it?
Can I read something from the red diod to the left of the radio/clock panel? Should it be on when the car is larmed, and be off when its unlocked?

Atm, its blinking sporadicly when I'm driving.

Best Regards Patrik

I also had mine turned down by Renault. Go to another dealer who knows what they're talking about :approve:

When you turn the key to turn it on and off you dont need to start the engine just two clicks until the the dash lights up then repeat two times. When you lock the car it will then bleep to tell you the the alarm is not set.
