aircon problem post cambelt change

just had my cambelt changed (full report to follow) - it was an engine out job.

was told the aircon was kept connected during the process but it now doesnt seem to be working properly.

with the ignition on i can hear switches/flaps being activiated when i switch 'Auto' on, and fiddle with the directional buttons. when driving the temp does change when you move the temp setting between min and max but theres no power to the airflow - just depends on how fast your driving ( :) ).

adjusting the fan settings makes no difference at all and i cant hear anything happen when i adjust the setting.

Should i be able to hear the fan ? (cant remember what it was like before - didnt really do anything but leave it on auto - which used to be fine)

heaving done a bit of searching on the forum looks like it could be the aircon pump (probably not reconnected correctly ?)

will be taking it back tommorrow for the garage to check but just wanted to understand a bit more myself!

this turned out to be a bit of a nightmare problem - eventually tracked down to two seperate (possibly connected) faults.

- o ring seal had failed on one of the aircon pipes where it changes from fixed line to flexible hose, result all gas leaked out!
- part of the aircon control module had failed as well (not sure if this was a result of the loss of gas)

All fixed now but fairly pricey :(
