Ive checked the fuses they are ok, press the A.C button and the light comes on as if its working but no cold air
Does it need re-gassing? Or is there any other common faults i should know about?
Had my compressor fitted under warranty, not sure if they are renowned for failing but it was only 18 months old and 11k on the clock but a gas vac and recharge should be cheap as chips 40/50 notes at a guess.
What is the compressor U.S John?
I know the clutch on the compressor does not engage as it makes no noise wot so ever with the covers off when you press the A.C on.
I have had a quick look in the fuse box by the passenger door and everything seems to be in place. What amperage is the fuse for the A.C? I will have a proper look this weekend at the fuses and try to find/follow the wiring.
Looked all around the fuse box and relays, everything in place. Need to get all the covers off and have a good look around the engine to see if there is something wrong with the compressor.
When i press the other buttons for the heated rear screen or the air re-circ you can hear the relay click and the revs change on the engine. Press the A.C button and nothing happens wot so ever.
Will do, infact iv had a leaflet posted thro the door the other day from my local reno who have got a lot of offers on at the mo. 1 of which is the air con service @ £69. May jus get them to look at it. - But i dont like other ppl working on my car.
ok chaps, had a air con system check 2day. The guy checked if there was any gas, (none wot so ever) then vacuumed the system to check for any air, and then re-gassed the system. Blowing lovely icy cold air now, can hear the air con clutch engage wen the button is pressed (never did this before as the system needs a vacuum to pull the clutch) He only charged me £52 which i thought was pretty decent.
It's sarcasm Tim, used in this case to highlight the irony of getting your a/c working again just as the hottest July on record might be coming to a cool end.......
