Agreed Value Advice

I've gone though Adrian Flux for my insurane, they were not the cheapest by a long way, however he policy seems to be a better product. I've been assured that I should be able to get an agreed value on the car. The form asks what price I want to secure the car at, any advise please?

Phase 1 416 Mars Red, totally OEM except silver pods. 21,000 miles and very very good condition.

Many Thanks

Ivan

It would indeed be useful for insurance companies to take notice that these cars are climbing in value. A good condition PH1 such as this one is certainly in the £14K region. I would guess that is close to what you paid for it?

They have Verbally said 12K without me even submitting the pictures? I'll try sticking £15K down, and I'll report back what they say.

I have just gone through the process of insuring my V6 on a classic car policy with agreed value.

I have rung around the usual suspects for quotations and after considering excess, service, premium, etc, I have insured with Classicline Insurance based in Hinckley, Leicester.

Their service has always been very good and efficient. On eon the staff there is also a car enthusiast so shows an interest in the cars you insure with them. I have three classic car policies with them.

I worked in the insurance industry for over 15 years so am a good judge of who and not to insure with.

If anyone needs any help with their insurance then feel free to give me a shout.

So rather than make a new thread I thought I'd bump this.
Bit info. 24, 6 years no claims, no points, and ok ish postcode.

Basically I have three options I'm keen on. But unsure what to do about the agreed value.

1) Sky: all mods declared, protected no claims, 4k miles, AGREED value at 15k (I needed a figure, but said it will probably be more) , £450 excess. Price is £980. With potential for a little more off.

2) Adrian flux: all mods, value 15k, protected no claims, 750 excess, 4k miles, £734(includes key care, breakdown, personal cover as extras or £650 without any of them), but here's the agreed bit it's an extra £39 for an 'agreed value cover', where the insurance pay out, and what ever isn't payed out to the sum of the agreed value, they pay it. Or, £839, with excess cover aswell.

3) Elephant: all mods, Value 15k, protected no claims, 750 excess, protected no claims, £640. HOWEVER, mods aren't replaced like for like in the other two, and I read they have a cap of £500, and bearing in mind the expense of mods.

I think I would go for Adrian flux, but unsure with the agreed value cover and excess.
I'm out off elephant due to the mods and no agreed price.
Anyone have any advice on agreed value cover?

Also, what about an agreed price? 2005 (55) 41k miles, all the history, looking at ones for sale now, it makes me think 16-17k?
