Just took all mine apart and cleaned it all up and then plugged the hole and surround with siroflex (body kit mastic) and then put it all back together. Should last me a while longer until I have to cough up £122. Any more news of the Audi A4 ariel? I might pop into dealership tomorrow and ask at parts desk.

It's a good tip, but the base should ideally be tightened down onto the new rubber seal - which means accessing the securing nut underneath.

There is an o-ring in addition to the rubber seal that perishes. On this thought, Rigster's tip is quite good then.

Fitted mine yesterday. Unfortunately didn't have a camera with me, otherwise would have written a guide. Top engine covers must be removed, rear and central pillar trims loosened/removed and roof lining pulled down for access. 22 mm spanner, nice and easy.

I'll try make a guide up when I get time.

Did a little more investigating today, managed to access the securing nut, are the cables fixed in the aeriel ?

Not too sure what you mean. Have you the new aerial already? The cables are connected beneath the right hand side engine cover trim - Push lock fittings.

Well..removed mine today and cut one from an unused 3mm thick pvc, looks 100% better.

No easier than replacing though, the aeriel still has to be removed completly.

Much cheaper though [smilie=yay.gif]

Changing the aerial is definitely not a job to be rushed.

A couple of handy tips:

1) Keep your hands clean.
2) Do not force anything.
3) see 1.
