ABS light illuminated

I've got an ABS fault and the dealer can't find the fault. Obviously checked all the sensors but no faults. Has anyone been able to read the unit for a fault code. Seems strange renault can't.

Typical Renault, they poberly only put it on the Clip and that only gives them reistance readings.

I noticed on mine when I had the drive shafts off, the ABS sensor rings were warped on one shaft. I belive people have had this issue b4, mines not so bad that it effects the ABS but may be worth jacking it up and having a look for your self.

If it is the problem you will see straight away, there was someone selling replacments because apparently Renault dont do them, there repair is a new shaft mega bucks.

Just remember level ground chock the front wheels and slide the wheel under the car never trust that jack SAFETY FIRST.

A quick check to do is make sure the sensor is situated in its bracket correctly. If it is not sqaure to the sensor ring then the light will come on and your ABS will not function. This happened to me and is a nice quick fix!

Just mind the bolt that you have to undo to remove the sensor. It's a rubbish quality torx bolt and is easy to round out. I've replaced mine with a conventional bolt.

How true, what were they thinking when the designed that bracket and fixing choice. Like uncoated washers and bolts where they know they will corrode and rot away.
