Ah hah! Had a quiet 5 mins looking around on the site so only just saw this.
Yep, I bought it.
Actually paid £7 for it in the end. Makes it a very cheap car however you look at it, and it's a keeper so no need to worry about it being CatD.
The dent in the roof on closer inspection was in fact where something was dropped on it.
The damage/repair to the front wasn't too bad and happened in late 06, 12,000 miles ago.
Had front wings, bonnet, splitter and driver's side front lamp plus a repair close to the driver's side front strut.
Had the repair looked at and all seems to have been done properly.
4 wheel aligns up nicely and is 0.01 within its tolerance on that side.
The paint on the replaced externals isn't nice at all but that's not the end of the world.
Drives straight and true up to 110mph and then gets a little floaty at the front end presumably thanks to lift, but that's normal right?
There is no service history, true, but the MOTs do indeed verify the mileage and the car's only done 18k miles.
Definitely needs a service, a cambelt to be sure and Spike was right.....the fuel filter's stuffed.
Apart from that, the airbag and serv light are on because the Renault seats have been replaced with Recaro Trendlines but haven't been wired in properly.
So total spend:
£7k for the car plus:
4 tyres £355 including fitting.
4 Wheel Alignment £60
Paint £350 for wings/splitter/bonnet & air Intakes back to OEM colour with my usual paint professional.
Wheel refurb and return to OEM colour £168 total (stripped back and redone from scratch including del/col)
Cambelt and Water Pump £995
Service £270 including air filter.
Aircon Repair and regas £120
Repair and reset serv and airbag lights £100
Total: £9,418.
Not bad given I'm keeping the car eh?
