.....being discussed here: LINK

It appears the buyer had negotiated down from £12.5K. Do we know about this one (note the aftermarket seats)?

Thats Jainys old one! #202.

Its still advertised on Autotrader for 17.5k. Thats one hell of a discount (or alot of bullshit).

Indeed, especially if it was advertised for £17.5K! The chap also goes on to say that the seller was parting with it due to his partner giving birth........

That is the worst forum I've ever visited! What a genuine load of spacktards on there! [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

£10,000 is keenly priced! He's done pretty well if he's got it for that.

What I can't quite comprehend, is that if one was buying a car as specialist as a Vee, surely you'd stick 'Clio V6' into google.... which would direct you here.... for some real advice.

Did this really sell for £10K ...............or is it just a load of bull.

Can't be arsed to read the link after reading everyone comments - so what's the short answer :s

Cars are only worth what people will pay for them. I could whack mine on at £22k and have zero interest. I then might drop it to a more realistic price band - £11k for sake of argument. I then may have a change of circumstances that means I need to sell asap so I drop it to £6k. A buyer in front of you on the drive is better than a 10 emailing/calling/dreaming asking ridiculous questions.

Back in 2008 I whacked my RX8 231 on for £7995 - mint example, low mileage, all the right modifications, every OEM option yada yada. Two or three people came to view; 150 million emailed and wasted my (and their?!) time. Finally got a local guy who seemed serious but thought it was too expensive. He offered me £6.5k and I said yes. Could I have bartered him up; probably, but by that point I was sick of the whole process and wanted the cash in my pocket. RX8 prices really tanked after that to the extent that looking back I actually accepted a very good price!

Moral of the story is everyone's reasons for selling are different. Sometimes circumstances dictate cars going for well under "market" rate. Also, bear in mind that it's not unheard of for a bunch of enthusiasts to overvalue their cars... ;)

Or sometimes state the obvious... sometimes owneres even badger bouyant prices, shooting ones self in ones foot? Lol Lets not forget how devalued these cars are already in the UK compared to the rest of Europe!

IMO, £10k for that particular car is a damned good buy. If it did actually sell for that price.. we may never know the truth. The new owner said he bought it off a friend, how far does that friendship go? We're there any favours being done or repaid.. who can tell. Its all hear-say untill one hears it from the horses mouth, as they say.

Spot on Shaun. The UK second hand car market is ridiculously cheap for pretty much everything. One of the reason why the trends of vees going abroad is rising - lot of 'easy' money to be made.

I phoned the chap who's selling this very car on Autotrader for £17,000 and its still for sale! (I was hoping I could swap my transparent engine cover for his proper one and some cash)... Read Into it what you want.

By the way, he'll sort the tyres and the wheels, and tidy up a few bits if one pays the full asking price.

It certainly did sound like a load of tosh, which was kind of obvious when Duncan posted up that the Vee was still listed on Autotrader.............

Probably is tosh but Autotrader ad wouldn't expire immediately so could have been sold and for sale at the same time.
