2003 Phase 2 Illiad Blue - Autotrader

[smilie=thanks.gif] Added to the register, this is the 1000th v6 in our register!!

[smilie=yay.gif]

only 1822 to go!!

Looks a bit ropey TBh-

Front bumper is scuffed up-

Service history by bodgit & scarper- Doubtful cambelt has been done & if it has probably retensioned the belt ( I wonder what garage would do that eh!)
3rd service was 2010- 1st was 2004 for a clutch - so 6 years in between.
Needs a service as is on the 24 month marker-
No tax

So in essence- way overpriced for the condition its in- & thats just looking at a few photos.

So assuming no cambelt-

£600 to spray the front inc bonnet + blend-
£150 TAX
£1.1k Cambelt
£200 Service

~ 2k.

so then 15k that turns into 17k for a 53 plate plate V6.

SHED Im oot.

Photo 8 looks like a 'v6clio.net' keyring to me!!!( admittedly upside-down ) Does that not mean the owner has to have been a member?

Leave the poor car alone chap !!!

Just because u don't fancy it because u dont see £ profit in it.
Leave others to make their own mind up !!

The garage have put a price on it and maybe they will do the stuff u mention in negotiation

Your comments I always find very negative and not constructive TBH

Looks to be a pretty straight and genuine car tbh.. Panel gaps are good, yes it could do with some paint on the bumper. Reasonably low milage for an early car.

The value of these cars is certainly on the up, there's just enough about to satisfy demand for them Steve. (Acid) [smilie=yay.gif]

Really are you that blind to think that?- Maybe im just highlighting to potential buyers the work involved in bringing this particular car to top quality condition- like most enthusiasts & potential buyers/new members want.-

Maybe you should add 1+1 sometimes & work out that that im looking from the customer point of view rather than the dealer point of view.

Your post is stooped in Irony, because had someone turned up on the forum having just paid lets say 14.5k then posting some of the points they have found there would have been a tidal wave of posts saying why didnt you check this , why didnt you do that X Y & Z.

The bottom line is this is the difference with a main dealer selling a car that they have no interest in , V myself who has a vested interest in what I sell & an enthusiast as well ensuring the car is tip top before sale-

From that dealers perspective its called lazy retailing-

If the car was MINT & underpinned by a great Service history then yes lets praise it & get someone up there whos looking for a good one to buy it-

However its not, its poor.- Its got poor service history, probably no cambelt change, paint req & probably other work needing thats not visible in the pics-

So the way i read it is just because its a PH2 in Illiad Blue & just because theres not many up for sale & because the whole of the forum attitude is to try & inflate the price of every car that makes that car worth 15k.

sorry its a shed, it needs PROBABLY over 2ks worth of work, poss more.

People like yourself need to get of your high horse & realise there are cars that deserve a price tag like 15/16k & cars that need a great deal of attention, this being the latter.

Clio v6 doesnt automatically = Classic + collectors item. the same rules apply, possibly more so for a future classic. Which Are-

Rarity, Low mileage,No Paint work req, Reputable Service history.- I hardly think busby stoop garage is going to be at the top of the specialist list when it comes to cambelt work for the V6....

Dealers like this actually irritate me- Everyone works on a margin but probably PXed for 11k & listed for 15k as is - not even serviced-

regards
S

So I'm Blind !! On my high horse !! And stooped in irony !!

I should get a decent doctor !!

Oh well ! I'm happy with life !!

Was it busby or stoop?

And no spanner not saying you are, but the car is. Full retail price for a non prepped car is shoddy and cheap and greedy. As said im all for margins but thats a pi$$ take.
