1st ever test drive event of PH1 in Nice France

Back in the days before everyone had a camera on their phone...I rarely bothered to take pics as it meant carrying a camera around but I just found this from October 2000.
It was the scene that greeted the Press when they arrived at Nice airport for the first International test drive event for the Clio V6.
The test route was out towards Monaco and the Col de Torini.
Group size was about 30 people so there would have been up to 20 cars...... and what an exciting sight it was. I still remember it.

I drove one of those cars in the pic @ Spa as they did a promotional tour round Europe. Somewhere i have a pre digital pic of me outside the Spa (old) pits looking rather bleary eyed & unkempt ( courtesy of big night out the night before ) posing next to the car i drove. Was invited there for a driving experience after i ordered mine & was awaiting delivery. Think we had around 6 Vee's for the day all with a number stuck up in the windscreen to identify them, so i can imagine the impression 20 of them in the sun made.

Driving tuition extended simply to 'Don't crash it!'......

Also got a run with professional Clio Cup driver whereby my sentiments echoed Jeremy Clarkon's comment 'I think a bit of poo came out' :rofl:

I had a rummage through old packs of prints because It was before the days every mobile had a camera (how old does that sound now! ) and could only find some pics of a Monaco grand prix trip I arranged and some negatives of an F1 launch party where I turned Renault London West huge showroom into a nightclub and we showed the first GP of the season live when it started in South America so was in the evening (which had a mars red phase 1 V6 on display actually so I'll get some prints done ). so sorry no Trophy pics.

I remember Richard from those days, pre Top Gear fame. I did the Honda S2000 launch with him in the South of France. Men & Motors, him and one dude (Graham something) with the camera.
