#157 (Phase 1) up for auction.....

Lankan

Active Member
V666 RSS (previously X929 OFC), to be auctioned at CarFest

Estimate (£): 8,000 - 10,500, covered 57,476 miles

Is this a press car, since the first owner appears to be Renault?

This was indeed one of the Press cars.. from Renault LINK

Shame that the fact the car was owned by Renault (and perhaps was a Press car) isn't stated in the description.

Good to see that the Vee is now moving in the right direction - I think this is the second Vee that has come up for auction with a reputable auctioneer.

I had seen that video - thought the original plate rang a bell. I think had the plate been put back to X929 OFC it would stand out better at the auction.

Would be inteterested to see how much it goes for, especially since it is being listed as "no reserve".

Just got back from car fest, the car definitely got a good reception, especially from the auctioneers and Chris E and made a few good comments about it too. Loads of people where looking over it. However, it was definitely one of the rougher cars I've seen, no signs of crash damage but lots of overspray from recent paintwork & the worst wheel refurb I've ever seen. Seats & steering wheel where extremely worn.
It didn't reach the reserve (6500) but at 6200 when bidding stopped they said they would try agree a sale after the auction. A fair price considering condition I think.

What a bloody fantastic festival though! Anyone who got carfest north tickets is in for a treat!

£60!! I know some of it goes to charity but wow steep! On par pricewise with Goodwood I suppose. I see they allow the 7 best cars in for display. Possibly seven best vees in the club get in next year (if it's on) and the rest of us park up in the car park. Before anyone else says it mine's wont even get into the public parking area despite my recent nomination 'victory' at Simply French  Maybe worth looking at as a club next year ..... over to you Shaun ;)

I went for the whole weekend & thought it was a bargain tbh, you pay £60 too see a concert these days, so to see 6/7 bands, a small air show (+cool stuff flying over all day), camp, watch countless events in the main arena, & see all the cars going up the hill, you got alot for your money! Too see & hear the group b, historic F1 cars & pikes peak cars all in one place was worth the money alone. Imagine a more relaxed goodwood with more of a family feel & where the evening do is included for everyone.

There wasn't really that many car clubs there considering the space they could of used, 7 vees would of been perfect! Wouldn't really be the sort of thing were you could just turn up on the day and leave when you wanted, was more a leave your car there all weekend affair.

They are doing it again next year, raised close to a million for children in need!!

Wow with that much going on its more than a bargain almost feels like the organisers are getting ripped off by the public!! You are right Duncan its a bargain. I am a convert if you totalled up the lot individually it should be nigh on £200 - you get a car show, air displays, music amongst other things its an awful lot for the money. It is definately on my list for next year now. :)

Seems like value for money. May make it next year, but if one is to attend only one day, is Sunday the better option?

Shame the Vee did not reach its reserve price, but if it was as rough as you say, then it may not have been that good a buy, especially when you factor in the buyer's premium.
