Clio Clio 182 rear brake knocking very odd

hey guys and girls, odd one, replaced rear disks and pads on my clio a couple of days ago, today i had the stereo off and when braking at slow speeds, crawling in traffic, i kept hearing a knock or click. jacked up the car and found this...

any ideas? the pads dont move that i can see when it happens but it also feels like there is a slight tight spot. i know a little run out is normal on disks.

I would recheck the reverse side of the disc/hub to see any signs of a wheel bolt hitting something as it seems to knock at the same point in the rotation.
Also when you torque the centre hub nut up do it with the no load on axle.

will do, that was my first though as i have had a wheel bolt catch before. odd that its at very low speed though and not continuous at all speeds. tomorrows job will be a full strip down check and re assembly

No noticeable run out on the wheel with no caliper fitted. There is a rotational noise though i think its normal, what do you guys think?

there is a noise, that is there with or without the wheel fitted, very slight but id say it was just normal noise? no clicking or clunking.

so remove and refit everything, found the sliders were a bit stiff so cleaned and lubed up.

put everything back on and had no bad noise so pulled the wheel back off for another look.

tadaa think i found the noise.

i think the slight disk run out mixed with sticky sliders was causing the slightly loose fit pad to knock.

what do you guys think?

Check the pad to piston fitment & the condition & fitting postion of the wedge slider/clips espcialy if non gen pads are used.
The piston on the caliper should have a 5mm wide slot to allows the small peg on the pads to locate on the piston correctly.
This slot has a grove along one edge & this grove should be at the top, this is to allow correct engaugement of the internal parking brake mech & to align bleed holes within the piston.

There is a big cross on the piston, so there are 4 quarter raised parts of it, 2 of or half the piston has grooves in them. Should the be aligned to the too ie up or top of the caliper as if it were put on a bench? So the pin would be in the slot between 2 of the raised parts with the grooves on, is that correct?
