Stumbled across this on facebook this morning:

Rev's Engineering in France are building a 1000hp+ turbo clio v6 for street/drag use.

Comically massive rear spacers, but looks like they are pretty serious with the engine mods they are doing. Photos taken from Facebook LINK

Bit of mad project as its not likely to be very useable, but will keep eyes peeled for the end result.

Those pistons ill not work at 1000 hp as they are the wrong shape.
What say you Brett?
I think its brown and stinks!

Of course, if they are running nitro anything is possible for a few seconds!
And if they are thinking of running methanol with the engine inside the car with the driver they are more stupid than i first thought!
RIP.

Looks like they are at the top of their game. They obviously have the equipment and know how to build very special stuff. Who knows what their plans are, maybe those pistons are fine although if they plan to use pump fuel and a turbocharger then the C/R is going to be very very high if they use the reno cylinder heads. Then saying that a lot of top notch turbo race cars now run high c/r's. If its built purely for drag racing then alcohol would be best as they will have no need for intercooling even with high boost. The likes of which are a pain in a vee. Like you say though, I'd want 2 ft of concrete between me and the stuff.
With many companies having access to 5 axis CNC machines, maybe better designed cylinder heads are on order. Who knows. They can clearly produce bottom ends that will cope. Could you get a transverse gearbox to last drag racing......I don't know of one that will cope happily with 800lb/ft+ in mid engine configuration.

1970's cadilac . front wheel drive!

Hmmmmm.......dont those 7000cc lumps only make 50bhp and 90lb/ft though! Lol I know the ones you mean.

Reckon a Muira SV or Jota box should work OK if you can get one!! Bit of strapping round the casing at the bearings should stop things flying apart, horrible box in real life though, you can see the tractor pedigree coming out here!
