I bought my car back when i was 14-15. Restored it for years and tinkered with it. Stripped it down, had it re painted, rebuilt the engine myself etc. I kept the r5 but had a couple of astra gsi's mk3, sold them on, had another 5 and moved that on. Still had my car. I let a lad have a go in it and he did the gear box. It sat there sad on the drive :( i eventually did put a box in it but it sat on the drive. I came out of mechanicing and went back landscaping. I then went off to do my chainsaw tickets and started to climb and work for a tree surgeon. I let my car go for the measly sum of £1100.00 IN 2010-2011. I put the money towards buying my first chipper as i had set myself up as my own tree surgery firm. 5 years on my friend came back from australia for a few weeks, i asked him to find out about my old car and i would buy it back. Turns out its up in scotland now.

So i started looking for another 5. Bought one at the start of july from down mansfield way. drove it off the trailer, took it to bits and engines out and in bits :D

Im 26 now, miss the old car but the new one has to be better. I've re joined the old site we were all on but everyone had gone, couldnt see any of the oldies on face book either! it was only someone telling me this afternoon about this site that i came on to join :)

Sadly everything was lost.... kind of.

The committee managed to get a version on the old site up... All pics are long gone sadly. ..

The website with all old threads was taken off line...

Kinda sums up everything right there! New car is much better than the old one, same for where you go to show the love now.. :grin.gif:

Welcome to TurboRenault.co.uk @Swinny@Swinnyty Win! i do remember reading your thread many moons ago with your old car, glad to see the 5GTT tick had a good bite of you all those years ago for you to come back.. we've all had that same bite!! :friends.gif:

You must get a thread up about your new car on here? I've probably seen you purchase the car on FB, but not made the connection between the two?

If you're free this weekend you should come down to Blyton Park in lincolnshire for the first TurboRenault.co.uk Day being held in conjunction with the chaps from ClioSport. Many of us (MUCH) Old(er) faces will be there. Of course there's a thread about it HERE you can have a read. :drinks.gif:
