Thought I would start a project thread from the beginning. I brought this in a bit of a sorry state , no bonnet, no boot and no ECU plus other various bits. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg First thing to do was a good clean and polish and she started to look a lot better thanks to Matty.

I have been trying to find out about the car and I managed to get in touch with Johnny Mac the owner and driver of the car back in the day.
He kindly sent me pictures and has filled me in with loads of its history.

I'm not to worried bout the dents and scratches I think there part of its history, so I'm going to get it running then straight back on track.

A bit more info on the car. Johnny was lined up to buy Richard Pavey's car.The blue and white one in pic. IMG-20150626-WA0028.jpg Until this happened at Thruxton. IMG-20150626-WA0029.jpg
Richard Pavey brought a brand new shell with no chassis number from Renault and all the bits from the blue and white one went on the blue MAC one.

I just spent ages looking at the canopy/gazibo thing over those racing cars thinking "omg, they had the turborenault.co.uk URL back in those days?", completely baffled as to how they had the logo on their canopy.

........ then I realised it was just a watermark on the picture...... DOH!!!!!

I found out a bit more history about the ole car whilst talking to Colin (the master ) Cook. He used to help out with car preparing for Richard Pavey and after the accident Colin was the one that swapped all the bits over to the new shell. Shame it wasn't there for him to see it at Blyton.
