Hi,
Need to take the head off the old 19 (1.4 E6J 1991) - 350k miles - its done fantastic on one head gasket but no 3 cylinder not firing at all and water in the rocker cover so its defo new gasket time, looks fairly straight forward but anything to look out for ?
Venerable 19
The Venerable 19 cut out the other day driving home from Fleet, one minute perfect, next minute total engine failure.
Engine turned over fine, petrol coming through but no spark. Had to leave the car. Came back next day with a spare disti cap, HT lead.
HT lead made no difference, but after...
Anyone got any idea on this..?
And before you say 'measure it yourself' the car ain't near me right now, but I know its leaking from the bottom rad hose where it connects into the engine - jubilee clip holding for now but only temporary, If someone could tell me the diam then I can pick up some...
I wasn't really sure where to post this up, its a little sideline idea/project ive been looking at recently. A few people have popped up on facebook doing the Gordini head swap onto the c1j bottom end, giving a crossflow head setup. This has quite a big benefit for the old C1j, 1, the valves are...
Hi,
Appreciate if anyone can help on this - I have a 1991(H) 19 1.4 with E6J engine and carb, I need to replace the ignition coil condenser, any ideas on what to use given I can't get one from Renault - is there a condenser off another model I could use..?
Thanks
I have a 1390 E6J carb model from '91, was tightening the alternator belt today and accidentally knocked the coolant hose out of its connection to the inlet manifold, trouble is the hose came off with what looks like a metal sleeve - which is now damaged - I'm not sure if this metal sleeve has...
First off, I apologise for the length of this (saga) but I am totally stuck and want to give as much detail as I can.
Well I have a couple of weeks to work on my 11 again and I'd really like to get it running properly. As I've mentioned before it has an E7J engine in it with a carb setup so...
Ok so nearly there on the energy engine in the R11 but a few questions about wiring and the carb.
First, could someone tell me what the third pipe connector is on the back of the carb? I've looked up the Haynes and a workshop manual but they don't show this?
Next is my alternator. I'm...

Hello everyone.
I bought my car in February 2008 for € 500 (£ 435).
It had 147,000 kilometers (91,341 miles).
Currently has 153,700 kilometers (95,500 miles).
It is a little used car was bought for love and not by necessity.
I like the fact of having a color difficult to find a...
can this be manually adjusted?
and how if possible?
just feels like the timing is slightly out on the running of Persil, almost like its trying to keep up with itself, if that makes sense? :?:
if this isnt the answer to the running probs, could the coil affect it in this way at all...
well 2 bottom ends and 1 head.
These are sitting doing nothing,
1 is on 110k miles and it ran fine, it has a head on it but theres bent valves, the heads fine and the engine the belt went on was another so the pistons are fine
the other is on 206k miles with NO wear in the bores, this...
I'm looking for cams for my 1.4 E6J engine.. ..I've found 2 companys that have cams for my engine - these are Catcams and Dbilas. Prices are almost the same around 300€ (₤200). I'm using my car as daily driver and for autoslaloms, so I need as much torque as possible and linear power delivery...
