Cooksport springs on order to start things off

What coil spring compressor you got there a bit of a bugger

Old type that you chuck an upper and lower “hook” on the springs and wind them up. Tbh I’ve not looked under this and have no idea of the shock arrangement :man_facepalming:t2:

Good to see you back in a reanult, i’m looking forward to see how you gonna make this a tidy example and do some mods!
A good friend recently bought himself a rs220 edc, I drove it a few times now and it is a very pleasent car to be in.

Only changed the standard car ones but had to buy a bit of kit, they are wider in the Middle there’s a name for them , conical I think, the second coil hits the strut as well under load instead of stacking, I’m probably being a bit thick . A lot of stuff like it apparently, welcome to borrow if you need to ,

So it’s been less than a week… cooksport springs fitted this afternoon and the symposer thing blocked off. Fitting was easy as really, there’s plenty of droop in the suspension and you don’t even need to use spring clamps, win there. Its not been driven yet so I’ll let it settle before booking in for alignment. Jez was poking around under the car and noticed it has a center box delete already too which was a nice find. I do have a rotational noise on the front right, I can’t feel play but I think it’s the wheel bearing. I’ll keep an eye on it and get it swapped out soon. Hmm what’s next…

Intercooler / CAI / Exhaust.

Looks good that!

Brembo and speedlines next? :eyes:

So I was meant to be out with everyone at Oulton today but bailed due to the weather. So in between the rain and wind I’ve been tinkering. Surprising what you hoard in the shed over the years.

ITG induction kit… nah… how about PMT induction kit  I almost have the right filter to turbo pipe too but it’s lacking the n75 valve takeoff. Forge Motorsport sell one and are local to me so I will go grab one to replace the corrugated pipe. Sounds a little meaner on boost with a little love puff when you release the throttle

Always lube up the wiper spindles when in there they can be trouble some. looks Tidy

ooooo look at this, so very tempting..

anyone know of any build threads for bigger power//hybrid builds on these cars?

Ricardo pushed his a bit I think. No crazy HP ones though unless you engine swap and gearbox swap

found a post from you/Rs Tuning with nigh on 300bhp on a mamba turbo! would be plenty im sure

The car drives lovely on the cooksports, tbh you wouldn’t even know even know its on aftermarket springs.

I did have my first issue though, driving home yesterday and joined the motorway, didnt feel as peppy or quick as normal. Plugged in the obd to see base boost pressure been given, so about 8 psi. Not sure if the car was too cold or anything, it cleared itself and went fine a few min up the road but its not done it before. I’ve done a search but not much comes up for these cars at all. It could be a dying boost control solenoid, no faults logged by the ecu though. Ill try and get some decent logging software to see what the pressure request is if it does it again. This morning it was totally fine and going over 8psi at light throttle when cold which makes me think its a faulty part either not working or feeding incorrect info to the ecu :man_shrugging:

Must admit have been looking at these, have a daily and the Meglio and this would probably cover both. Only issue is when I have a good blast in the Meglio I just can’t do it. Lou could do with one at the moment as she can’t drive a manual with a Boot on for her ligament damage.

It did it again after work today, totally fine this morning though… have given the valve a clean out but will get a spare on order, I did have one fail on the old twingo F4RT so could be a common issue as that gave inconsistent boost levels as it died.

It really does the whole lot, its a smooth cruiser and a total animal in one car.

So it hasn’t done it again since cleaning the valve out but I do have a spare on order. @Big Steve - Raider did me a solid and sold me back an RS Tuner so I can do some logging. I’ve also placed an order from Opie oils using the turborenault discount code. Fresh filter, oil and even though I’ve read the gearbox is “sealed for life” I’ve ordered some box oil too. Still got a wheel bearing noise to sort but all going well so far.

Onto that, the car itself is pretty well rounded, like 2 cars in 1 really. Normal daily duties it just potters along doing its thing but when you load it up and flip it to RS mode it’s an awesome drive with pretty dam good levels of grip and stability through the twisties. Feels super planted and compliant when pressing on, maybe I’m not driving it hard enough yet :man_shrugging:t2:

This seems the opposite of your Porsche? Its fun at lower speeds?
