Behave ! Unless it a Righton secret , then bosh the info out there. Lots of folks are lurking on here , reading without posting replies. I am just one of the sad ones that prods and encourages !

Love the detail. Its what makes a project !

    Bite me. Lol

Nah, it's kind of nice showing others.

Just remembering everything as it's a few years since I did this last.

It's just like riding a bike mate.

You fall off a lot, it hurts but you keep getting back on again anyway and it's a pain in the ass.

    Last weekends updates....

Timing marked up.... And before anyone comments I know the cam was 180 degrees off TDC, but someone had already marked it up at this and all the marks on the crank, camshaft and oil pump lined up pefectly with their marks.

Rather gunked up old rocker assembly........

    And off she comes.........

Pistons, old head gasket material and very gunked up water ways around liners needing a very good clean.......

    That's better!!!!!

Then came the tedious job of lapping all the valves in the newly ported and flowed head.......

New head gasket applied, along with cleaned and rebuilt rocker assembly........

And put away for next weekends session........

Oh and special thanks to my helper yesterday, my son Nathan.....

Good progress. It's fine the cam being 180' out, just change the leads round to suit.

Nah, he was quite happy to help. Mind you, I did remind him that I did his paper round last week, as he went out with his mates paint-balling.

Change that cam back to how it should be! That mark is for the NA engines, use TDC, square hole timing mark!!!

    Today's update.......

Sorry forgot to take many pics.

Removed the leaking/dented and flaky paint sump.

Bashed out the dents and repainted it. Cleaned the oil pump and its strainer.

Then fitted the matched inlet and exhaust manifolds and T34 turbo.

Going to have to find a way of supporting the manifold and turbo, as the new manifold is miles longer. Also will have to find a way to lengthen to turbo oil return pipe, and find a way to fit the dipstick.

Nice. That's a long manifold! But the turbo sits low down so should be able to make some top supports from the head too.
Put the dipstick tube in a bending spring and route it how it suits.
Hydraulic suppliers will make a turbo feed, could add an inline filter too, for about £25

I have the original ones from the engine that came off somewhere. You can have em when you stump up for the manifold :)

    Today's update......

First make a bracket to support the manifold and turbo......

Then lengthen the turbo oil return pipe....

Clean and paint power steering pump bracket ect and fit including uprated 105 amp alternator.

Next sort out the messy rocker cover...

    Silver will do....

Added a few more brackets and bolts. And as it stands tonight.....

You bloody prat. You should never get dragged back into 21 turbo ownership. Nothing but trouble. You'll never find me in a 21 again.

    Last weekends updates.

Most of the stuff does not stand out, setting the tappets etc.

Finally decided how to route the dipstick, and made a rather nice bracket for it....

    Added water pipes......

Added spark plugs, leads and engine wiring loom and fuel lines ....

All that's left to do/get........ (let me know if you have anything I need)

    Drivers side engine mount. (needed)
    PAS and alternator belt.
Oil cooler and better pipes for it. (needed)
Pilot bearing and clutch release bearing. (needed)
    Turbo oil feed pipe. (needed)
    Dump valve. (needed)
