I kept away from the EFI route for may years but I think I am know converted.
We have designed a kit which can be fitted to the original car without having to fabricate new manifolds etc and allows the user to use the original boost hoses etc.
The car starts a lot easier and has lost the hesitation found with the caerburettor, the car is just more efficient and nicer to drive. The power has increased slightly and we still have a lot more boost to use but ultimately it's more enjoyable to drive as there is less hesitation/stalling etc that you get with high fuelling carbs. The ECU also controls the boost pressure so helps give a more progressive flow of power.

Thanks to Adey's rolling road day I got 236BHP from the hill climb car, not bad for a 20 year old stock engine - T25 turbo with double capacity intercooler and standard air box. Another 2 degrees ignition advance would have seen over 250BHP but gets close to detonation.
Next years engine will be built with cams and head work so hopefully we can achieve a bit more!!

Just a point I mused across as my brain does sometimes...I know there was a single point injection version of the C-series, was there ever a MPI?
What does the SPI manifold look like?
Could you wing an EFI conversion out of it with a single ID1000 injector or similar? No fab = massive saving.

Funny i did have that same thought?? Wonder if it would be better than a carb?

The uber rare Alliance manifold. Most of the French boys have hoovered them up over the years though.

Chris Miller used a Skoda 1.4 8v manifold for his efi.... Think there are around £50 new.

The car is using a SPI injection system and produced 236BHP at Adey's Rolling Road day last year.....a MPI version may have been more efficient on fuel put would not have produced more power.
The old 20 year old engine is being replaced for next season with an all singing/dancing version and hoping to achieve 270BHP

This years engine will have modified cylinder head and inlet manifold to help improving the breathing.
