Yer, I've just found my set of siemens 630cc standard size, thought they were low imp, but the test paper work says high imp win win!

I've got a TXI throttle and plenum :)

so what we're all saying is, the following should be good?
    big valve head
    piper or catcams cam
    GT2871R
    pistons and liners
    630cc injectors
all bottom end lighten and balanced
    240mm AP clutch
    Adaptronic......................................................

Provided its assembled and leaves the garage, yes! ;)

Imo, good yes, not all essential but depends on the application.
Cat cam's seemed to offer the better profile.
Big valve head either ways, I'll be chopping one up for cross section to see how much meat is there (unless someone has a faulty head I can use)
Bigger valves and cam would want a much larger turbo. I'd run that on a stud block.
    Pistons, only if altering compression.
Liners, westwood's will still let go, just a little stronger.
Lightened and balanced, only if revving more than 7200.

Just my opinion but if that's all there it 'should' make a cracking motor. If starting from scratch an engine conversion would be cheaper though.

Oh, adaptronic will run either injectors ;)

I've got the VXR's, a TXi plenum and throttle body (55mm over 50mm) and the inlet and exhaust systems are enormous. The .48 Turbine housing spins it up FAST and with the external WG I still get strong top end.

You can fit a TXi plenum in if you chop the heatshield out, but the plenum headbutts the bonnet occasionally lol

Dude, I got bored, went for a leak, made a cup of tea and had a nap then came back in time for it to come on boost lol :D. I'm 1000rpm earlier, at least. Probably more. I don't watch the gauges much on throttle i'm too busy watching the world go backwards :) will try and get a video tomorrow.

    Fucking PMSL
Andy's spec was always going to get good power, it was always the plan for >300. Shame it stalled really but life takes over sometimes. I'm going to go get it when the garage has a roof on it.

...but it prefers high impedance, especially when batch firing.

I'm just missing the txi body but struggling to find one so I'll look into something else and try for 60mm, don't think I'll need more than that. Everything is free flowing.
Lol, my 5 used to start making boost about 3500 and not on full chat til 4500. That was a 4th gear pull at 30mph. I'll do some new vids when it's back out. It's pushed to the side again while I get through a few jobs.

Could you use something like the 197 throttle body if needed ?

I've not actually looked at my one yet. Got a box of various types but I think the main thing is the throttle position switch, I know the f7's would work with an adapter plate, not sure with the f4's

Fly-by-wire. No good, well, not without an FBW controller anyway and thats additional time, expense and complexity you can do without.

Did you get a price on the inlets from the guys who made the ex manifolds?
Actually anything with tps will do for adaptronic so whatever is easier to fettle on

No, I have made my own setup that mimics the superpro with ITB's so I don't need one :)

Not to complicated to fit either.
Fair do's, theirs looks nice and simple and direct fit, just wondered on the price comparison to what you've done dave.

    forgot to add
flat top pistons and the head space around the valves opposite the spark plug has been welded in, so slightly higher compression. Not looking for high revs, just a big power band. I build an engine for a very good friend back in 2010 and the dyno is below. The only difference is mine has bigger valves, bigger turbo, more modern ecu....

Interested to know more on your head work. That, and it's just a discussion, looks wrong. Power figures definitely aren't correct but it looks like it all happens too soon aswell. Imo, according to that, the turbo wants to be miles bigger and at least a 285 cam in there. Any other info on the cam?

catcams billet, its better than the piper 276 regrind, slightly less duration, but much more lift. The turbo is a GT28RS. Basicly, yes it needs a much bigger turbo, but the owner wanted NA driving style with turbo power, also it was going into a 750kg Alpine A110, but he built a 12V version and put that in

The curve looks like it's supercharged so I guess you got the requirements bang on. Im surprised with the turbo though, appears to spike then drop off. Was that air flow or actuator? I presume it wasn't surging?
