Yeah that's the one thing I'm not confidant to do myself is the rods, I have done everything else on my s3 which has saved me a fortune one of the worse was fitting the 3" downpipe not fun

With a track day coming up I decided to get some cast LCR arms (mine were replaced in the past with pressed steel) perfect opportunity to upgrade so I have popped in some powerflex bushes ready. Down side when bleeding the brakes I found the drivers rear calliper was totally seized! Not good

Well after some internet searching it turns out the caliper wasnt seized. Theres a funny thing that can happen when fully returning the piston and a D seal flips round. It stops the piston from moving much so gives a spongy brake pedal and makes the caliper look fooked. Poped it off again this morning and wound the piston back out full, pushed it back in but not all the way and the seal flips back round. Now have fully working brakes and a really nice pedal feel. Saved me £170+ :D

Weird! I remember maaaaany years ago I nearly bought new calipers for my 21 because I didn't know you had to wind them back it as opposed to just push them lol

The old 1.8t engine is awesome (compaired to its replacement) some of the builds ive read on the 1.8t are mental. I did always want one for a family car but alas the wife wanted a zafira :( oh well hopefully it will set on fire so we have to get a different car.
