    There appears to be no option to attach pics to pm's. Is this possible?
    Thanks

    Photobucket etc I think....but then that still consumes bandwidth doesnt it?

    Ah , right. I believe photobucket etc to be a bad move. Once a user leave the community , or fails to pay you lose the image for good.

    Rest assured I have prevented this in TurboRenault. We have a giant picture hoover going on in the background.

    photobucket is free! and its hotlinking so doesnt use your bandwitdth

    Imagine if it charged in the future. Or the pics were deleted. You end up with those annoying red X everywhere.

    Either way , if you upload to any host , we hoover the image and its stored here.

    Because the image is linked through TR, ie, you download it through us to your screen, it still uses our bandwidth (I believe thats the way ti works anyway)

    Hot linking doesnt work quite that way

    Traditionally

    Image from turboRenault.co.uk ---> You
    We use up our bandwidth and storage

    Hotlink

    turboRenault.co.uk hosted page --> request for image from host --> you
    We use our minimal bandwidth to request the page from the image host and deliver it to you , but not touching us

    Issue is , if a hotlinked image is removed , we lose the request address and deliver a bit fat red x

    Like this
    [IMG]

    So what I did was :

    turboRenault.co.uk --> Hotlinked image --> you

    HOOVER MODE : ON

    turboRenault.co.uk downloads the hotlinked image to our server. It costs us bandwidth , and space ( which are both free and included )

    Then when the image is requested

    turboRenault.co.uk --> Downloaded image --> You

    Its reverts to the tradition method.
