Ladies & Gentlemen, I am proud to announce a new European Jolly in 2017 that will be held in conjunction with the P.R.S. (Picardie Renault Sport) and Sangliers clubs.

They are holding a track-day WEEKEND at the Circuit des Clastres (120 Miles from Calais!) on 6th and 7th May 2017.
The agenda for the event will be as follows:
    • 2 Day Trackday open to all Renault Marques (Yes 2 days of driving the track...!) :ai:
    • Show & Shine
    • Traders there with their stands :declare.gif:
    • Camping
    • Anything else they can think of to make this Weekend a beautiful event under the sign of the Renault Diamond!
    PRICING FOR THE EVENT
    Track-day
    • 2 days of driving the track €165
    • 1 Day Driving the Track (Sat or Sunday) €85
    • 1/2 day Morning Session €45
    • 1/2 day Afternoon Session €55
    Camping
    • €10 Per Vehicle
    Entry Fee for Attendee's Only
    • Exhibit your Renault Sport or derivatives in the paddock (Renaults Only - alpine, gordini etc): €2
    • General Admission €2
    JOURNEY TO EVENT
The journey to the track from Calais is very short, so this would be a good opportunity for you newbies who haven't been on one of our European Jollies before and/or are a little concerned about driving your car in France? The following Maps are based on driving to Saint Quentin where I propose we stay and we could drive either with or without using the toll roads. Using the Via Michelin website, I have checked both options below:

    WITH TOLL ROADS
    £10.99 In Toll Road Charges + £18.99 of Fuel Charges = £25.85
    1 Hour 47 Minutes
    1 (2).JPG

    WITHOUT TOLL ROADS
    £0.00 In Toll Road Charges + £18.99 of Fuel Charges = £18.99
    2 Hours 39 Minutes
    2.JPG

As you can see, you can save money by using the toll roads.. but it costs you more time? Typically the smaller (non tolled) roads are more scenic though? We can make that group decision nearer to the time?

The drive from Saint Quentin to the Circuit De Clastres will take us approx 30 minutes, and we have a few options of getting there:

    ACCOMMODATION
As usual, there will be the opportunity to camp at the event in the evenings and the price for the camping will be included in the ticket cost for the event. I'm not sure what that will be yet.. but will add that detail later when I get it.
However @Millie_Bee@Millie_Bee and I cannot face camping under the stars any more, so we are proposing to stay in the nearby city of Saint Quentin and have already booked a cancel-able room in the ibis Saint Quentin Basilique thru Hotels.com. (You may be able to get a better deal direct thru Ibis.com?)

    EVENT
Full details of the event are not yet finalised, but I'm guessing it will be a typical open pit-lane trackday for those who want to drive, and a general show/shine chat to our European Friends who don't.

Again, for those who haven't been on a European Jolly before, the event is more about having fun and spending time together with guys & girls who have a similar passion for all things Turboed and Renault as you all do. There will be lots of laughs and festivity in the evenings, you will see lots of beautiful cars and people, and to top it off, you can practice your GCSE French to boot!! :dp:

In my many years of organising and going on these events, I can safely say that there is a real great team spirit of all the members who attend these shows, and you will be made to feel welcome and involved. This team spirit translates into support for your car also in-case you are having any difficulty during the trip, we all club together to support you!

    AGENDA
Our initial thoughts are to try & combine this trip with a visit to the Normandy Beaches (But that's not confirmed yet..) so this is how it looks so far:
    • Fri 5th May 2017: Eurotunnel to Calais, Travel to Saint Quentin, Hotel in Saint Quentin,
    • Sat 6th May 2017: Trackday 1, Travel to Saint Quentin
    • Sun 7th May 2017: Trackday 2, Drive to Caen, Hotel in Caen
    • Mon 8th May 2017: Explore Normandy Beaches, Hotel Somewhere Near?
    • Tue 9th May 2017: Drive home??

I hope you (yes you reading this) can come, all I ask if that you please set yourself as YES/MAYBE/NO to the section at the top of this thread, to show your interest! :dk:

I blame my selfish wife for ruining this weekend. I suppose I'll have to live with tearing up Florida in a F150 Raptor while you geezas are lauding it up in Français [IMG][IMG][IMG]
